Adaptive Research
Adaptive research is also known as on farm research, and is conducted to validate, modify or calibrate a new technology on specific soil, climate, and social economic or environmental characteristics of a given area. In this type of research farmers play a key role in the research process.
About us
The overall goal of The Center for Farming Systems, Rural Prosperity and Environmental Sustainability (CFSRPES) is for 1890 land grant universities (LGUs) to develop, leverage and share best practices, innovations, technologies and personnel across an eighteen state region address the profitability, sustainability and prosperity challenges of small farmers, ranchers and forestland owners (SFRLs).

Attending a historically Black college or university (HBCU) as a young adult may be linked with better later-life cognitive outcomes for Black Americans, according to a recent study. The authors sampled 1,978 Black American adults who attended college between 1940 and 1980 (35% attended an HBCU), and who attended a high school in a state with an HBCU. The conclusion? There may be a correlation between collegiate environment and long-term wellness.
